Fajitas for a meal

I picked up this Fajita Dinner Kit recently from Hyper City and decided to try my hand at this amazing Mexican filler!
The instructions are simple and clear and the package comes with some tortillas, taco sauce and taco seasoning. So, I picked up one of the tortillas, heated them enough till the light red spots showed up and it did not seem "kachcha" anymore. Now there are two ways of heating this - on the tava or in the oven. I found the tava very convenient.
Place the tortilla on a flat surface, spread the taco sauce evenly on the surface. Next, add a layer of mayonnaise to even out the sour taste of the sauce. Now if you are craving for a tangy meal then you could mix some regular sauce or pizza sauce with the taco sauce and avoid the mayo. Julienne some carrot and capsicum and slice the onion.

Take a pan and add little oil. Add carrot, capsicum , onion julienne in the pan and stir fry for a while, add paneer (or you could replace it with meat of your choice), taco sauce and taco seasoning with little soya sauce and red chilli sauce into this mixture and mix it thoroughlySpread this mix evenly on each tortilla and fold it either as shown in the packaging or simply as a roll and insert a toothpick to hold the roll together.

Serve it hot and get ready to take a bow! :)

Candles that you wont burn..ever!

2011 was the year of reviving my long lost interest in paints, brushes, pallets, etc. and I loved every bit of it.
From here stemmed the idea about dipping my candles in some colour.. well not exactly dipping!I picked up 3 of those long white candles that come to your rescue when the electricity fails and voila! I wouldn't say it was the perfect piece of art but it sure looked more colourful and prettier. They are still in my mom's house up on the mantle as showpieces :-)

Then I went on to make some more for my house..
FYI..this candle was not originally black :-)

And I gifted some of these to my friends..

I take up orders too, in case you need some of these for your kid's birthday with his/her name or favourite cartoon on the candle or just for yourself because you love colourful candles too like me.. Will post some more of these tomorrow.

Cute Handmade Indian Greeting Cards

I have a lot of creative interests, so I keep surfing online on various things women around the world have been creating whether it be related to cooking or home decor or arts and crafts (love this topic).
I'd designed some greeting cards in December 2011 for a friend abroad and I've uploaded them here. She wanted to give it to her "firangi" pals as a Xmas /New Year greeting and requested for typical Indian designs.
I tried being my Indian best with all the sparkles, swirls and sequins! :)
How did I get time to make them? Well I had quit my job and wasn't even married then :D :D
